San Francisco Giants starter Madison Bumgarner will be going for his third straight win on Wednesday night when he goes up against A.J. Burnett and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Big left-hander Madison Bumgarner pitched six strong innings against the Miami Marlins on the road last week and came away with his 11th win of the year. He allowed just one run on four hits in that outing while striking out seven batters and walking two. He is now 11-7 on the year with a 3.38 ERA and he has been able to strike out 135 hitters in 133 innings on the mound.

Phillies outfielder Tony Gwynn Jr. has three hits in his seven at-bats against Bumgarner with two doubles and two RBI. Domonic Brown is 1-for-3 against him with a solo home run.

Veteran starter A.J. Burnett gave up six earned runs in five innings to the Atlanta Braves last Friday and ended up losing for the ninth time on the season. He allowed 10 hits in that game and struck out five hitters while walking one. Burnett is now 6-9 on the year with a 4.08 ERA and he has walked 3.8 batters per nine innings.

Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval has three hits in seven plate appearances against Burnett with a triple, a home run and four RBI. Marco Scutaro is 9-for-32 against him with two doubles and a strikeout.
