On Sunday afternoon, Madison Bumgarner (12-8) will look to bounce back from one of his worst outings of the year when the San Francisco Giants take on veteran Bartolo Colon (10-8) and the New York Mets.

On Monday, Madison Bumgarner only made it through four innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates and ended up suffering his eighth loss of the year. He allowed five runs on six hits in that game while striking out two and walking two. Bumgarner has been solid for the Giants this year, though, and he has struck out 143 batters in 145 innings.

Mets outfielder Chris Young has seven hits in his 17 at-bats versus Bumgarner with two doubles, a home run and three RBI. Eric Young is just 3-for-25 against him with two walks and six strikeouts.

Bartolo Colon only allowed one run in 7.2 innings against the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday and came away with his second consecutive win. He did give up 10 hits in that start, but he only walked one batter and struck out six. Colon now has a 3.88 ERA on the season and he has struck out 6.7 batters per nine innings, which is his highest rate since 2011.

Giants outfielder Hunter Pence is 3-for-5 against Colon in his career with a home run and two RBI, while Dan Uggla is just 1-for-6 against him with three strikeouts.
