Ryan Vogelsong (6-8) is coming off of his best start of the year and will look to use that momentum when the San Francisco Giants take on Yovani Gallardo (6-5) and the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night.

Right-hander Ryan Vogelsong won his sixth game of the season last weekend when he defeated the New York Mets on the road. He pitched a complete game that day and gave up just one run on two base hits while walking one and striking out five. On the year, he now has a 3.74 ERA and he has only given up nine home runs in 127.2 innings of work.

One player on the Brewers who seems to like facing Vogelsong is third baseman Aramis Ramirez, who is 7-for-18 against him with two solo home runs. Veteran Lyle Overbay is just 1-for-10 against him with six strikeouts.

Yovani Gallardo finally picked up his first win of July last Wednesday when he beat the Tampa Bay Rays on the road. He pitched seven shutout innings in that start and gave up just four hits while walking one batters and striking out five. He currently owns a 3.38 ERA and has given up 127 hits in 135.2 innings.

Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval has hit a home run off of Gallardo in his career, but he is just 2-for-18 overall against him with five strikeouts. Brandon Belt is 3-for-6 against him with a walk and an RBI.
