On Tuesday night, former Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum (9-7) will try to get over two straight rough starts when he and the San Francisco Giants go up against Jimmy Nelson (1-2) and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Tim Lincecum had his shortest start of the season last Wednesday when he was beaten by the Pittsburgh Pirates at home. He went just 3.1 innings in that game and allowed five runs on five base hits while striking out two and walking three. His ERA is now up to 4.21 on the year, but he has still only given up 116 hits in 128.1 innings.

Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun has seven hits in 21 at-bats versus Lincecum with a double, two home runs and seven RBI. All-Star Carlos Gomez is just 1-for-11 against him with no walks and five strikeouts.

25-year-old Jimmy Nelson made his fourth start of the year last Sunday and was beaten by the New York Mets despite pitching seven solid innings. He allowed just two runs on five hits in that game and walked two batters while striking out six. In 23 innings this season, Nelson has 22 strikeouts and he has only given up two home runs.

All of the Phillies will be facing Nelson for the first time on Tuesday. So far this year, Nelson has held left-handed hitters to a .222 batting average against him.
