On Friday night, Madison Bumgarner will look to take his record over .500 when the San Francisco Giants will take on Paul Maholm and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Madison Bumgarner evened his record at 3-3 with a win over the the Atlanta Braves on Sunday. He gave up one run (0 earned) on just three hits in the game while walking one and striking out nine in the win. His ERA is now down to 3.18 and he's striking out over 10 batters per nine innings pitched this season.

Matt Kemp has not done very well against Bumgarner over the years, getting just four hits against him in 24 career at-bats and striking out seven times. Adrian Gonzalez hasn't done much better than Kemp against the left-hander, batting just .154 through 26 at-bats with five strikeouts.

Paul Maholm had a pretty good start against the Miami Marlins last Saturday, but he finished with the no decision in a game the Dodgers eventually won 9-7. He did give up a season-high nine hits in the game, but that led to just three runs for the Marlins. Maholm is giving up nearly 11 hits per nine innings on the season and his ERA is now 4.70.

Outfielder Angel Pagan has 9 hits in 28 at-bats against Maholm in his career with two doubles and a home run. Pablo Sandoval is 7-for-19 against him with a double, two home runs and five RBI.
