On Monday night, veteran right-hander Jake Peavy (6-4) will attempt to win his fifth start in a row when he and the San Francisco Giants face Dan Haren (13-11) and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Jake Peavy continued his strong month of September last week when he beat the Arizona Diamondbacks on the road. He gave up just one run in 7.2 innings of work that day while striking out four batters and walking one. Peavy now owns a 3.82 ERA and he has struck out 151 hitters in 190.2 innings on the mound.

Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is 4-for-14 against Peavy in his career with two home runs and three RBI. Outfielder Andre Ethier only has five hits in 34 at-bats against the right-hander with three walks and 11 strikeouts.

Dan Haren ended up taking the loss against the Colorado Rockies last Tuesday when he gave up five runs in five innings of work. He allowed four base hits in that outing and walked one batter while striking out five. Haren currently has a 4.14 ERA on the year and he has only walked 36 batters in 174 innings.

Giants outfielder Hunter Pence has just one hit in 16 at-bats against Haren in his career with a walk and three strikeouts. Veteran Angel Pagan is 5-for-8 against the right-hander with a double, triple, home runs and two RBI.
