Veteran right-hander Tim Hudson will be taking the mound for the San Francisco Giants in the World Series decider on Wednesday night when they face Jeremy Guthrie and the Kansas City Royals.

Tim Hudson took the loss in Game 3 after giving up three runs in 5.2 innings of work. In that outing, he gave up four base hits and struck out two batters while walking one. He now has a 3.72 in his three postseason starts this year and he has struck out 15 batters in his 19.1 innings on the mound.

Veteran infielder Omar Infante has just six hits in 27 at-bats against Hudson in his career with one walk and four strikeouts. Shortstop Alcides Escobar has been able to get five hits off of the right-hander in 11 plate appearances with two doubles and an RBI.

In Game 3, Jeremy Guthrie was able to pick up his first postseason win when he pitched five strong innings against the Giants. He didn't strike anyone out, but he gave up just two runs on four base hits in that game. In two playoff starts, he is now 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA and opposing hitters are batting just .194 against him.

One player on the Giants who keeps getting hits off of Guthrie is Brandon Crawford, who is now 5-for-6 against him in his career with a home run. Outfielder Hunter Pence is just 2-for-7 against him with a double and three strikeouts.
