Sunday night, Tim Hudson (9 - 9, 3.08 ERA) takes the mound for the San Francisco Giants as they take on Kyle Lobstein (0 - 0, 3.18 ERA) and the Detroit Tigers. It will be Hudson's 28^th start and Lobstein's 3^rd start and 4^th appearance.

Tim Hudson escaped with a no-decision in his last start despite a fairly rough outing. Hudson gave up 6 runs and 7 hits in just 5 innings. He struck out 5 while walking 1. Hudson hasn't been that great his last few times on the mound and his 2 - 4 record in his last 10 starts illustrates that point. In 2013, Hudson posted a record of 8 - 7 with a 3.97 ERA in 21 starts for the Atlanta Braves.

Hudson didn't face the Tigers last season but he has seen some of the Detroit hitters before. Miguel Cabrera is 12 of 28 (.429) against Hudson with a double, triple and an RBI.

Kyle Lobstein is still looking for his first decision of any kind after pitching to his 3^rd no-decision in his last appearance. Lobstein allowed 2 runs and 5 hits (including a homer) in 5.1 innings. He struck out 10 while walking 3. Before getting the call to Detroit, Lobstein was at Triple-A Toledo where he compiled a 9 - 11 record with a 4.07 ERA in 25 starts and a relief appearance.

Lobstein has no experience against the Giants and will need all the help that the scouting report and the rest of the pitching staff can offer if he is going to get past San Francisco.
