Tim Hudson (9-9), who is coming off of two consecutive solid starts, will take the mound for the San Francisco Giants on Monday afternoon when they face Franklin Morales (5-7) and the Colorado Rockies.

Last Wednesday against the Colorado Rockies, Tim Hudson pitched well enough to get the win, but he ended up with a no decision. He pitched eight innings in that game and gave up one run on four hits while striking out eight batters and walking just one. Hudson now has a 2.90 ERA on the year despite only striking out 106 batters in 167.2 innings.

Rockies veteran Justin Morneau has five hits in his 17 at-bats against Hudson with a double, a home run and two RBI. Josh Rutledge is 2-for-10 against him with an RBI and two strikeouts.

Left-hander Franklin Morales had a good start against the San Francisco Giants last week and ended up with a no decision for his efforts. He gave up just one run in six innings of work in that game while striking out six batters and walking one. Morales lowered his ERA to 514 with that strong start and he has now struck out 86 batters in 124.1 innings.

Giants outfielder Hunter Pence has six hits in 14 at-bats against Morales with a double, a home run and three RBI. Pablo Sandoval is just 3-for-16 against him with three walks and five strikeouts.
