On Wednesday night, Cincinnati Reds starter Tony Cingrani will be hoping to pick up his first win in over a month when he goes up against Ryan Vogelsong and the San Francisco Giants.

24-year-old Tony Cingrani lost his third straight start last week when he was beaten by the Arizona Diamondbacks on the road. He went five innings in that outing and allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits while walking two and striking out three. Cingrani now has a 2-5 record on the year and has a 4.01 ERA through nine starts.

Outfielder Hunter Pence has had six at-bats against Cingrani and has two singles and no strikeouts. All-Star catcher Buster Posey is 0-for-4 against him with two walks and a strikeout.

Ryan Vogelsong had a no decision in his start against the St. Louis Cardinals last week after going 6.1 innings in the game and giving up four earned runs. He allowed seven hits in that start and struck out five batters while walking three. Vogelsong is striking out more batters this season than he did in 2013 and he has only given up six home runs in 62.2 innings of work.

Reds Second baseman Brandon Phillips hasn't been able to hit a homer off of Vogelsong yet, but he is 7-for-14 against him with a double and an RBI. Zack Cozart is hitless against the right-hander in six matchups.
