Mike Minor will be making his first start of the season for the Atlanta Braves when they face Tim Lincecum and the San Francisco Giants Friday night.

Mike Minor will be returning to the mound for the first time this season following the shoulder issues he developed in Spring Training. He will be hoping to duplicate the success he had in 2013 when he went 13-9 with a 3.21 ERA in 204.2 innings.

No one on the Giants has a home run off of Minor, but Mike Morse has proven that he can hit the lefty by getting four hits, including two doubles, in nine at-bats against him. Joaquin Arias has just one hit off of Minor in seven career at-bats.

Tim Lincecum couldn't make it through the fifth inning in his start against the Cleveland Indians in his last star, but he ended up with just a no decision after the Giants were able to come back and win that game. He ended up giving up two earned runs in 4.2 innings while striking out three and walking two. Lincecum's strikeouts are up from last season, but he's giving up 12.6 hits per nine innings, which more than he's ever given up in his career.

Lincecum has done well against outfielder Justin Upton in his career, holding him to just 11 hits in 49 matchups and striking him out 17 times.
