Both the Giants and Diamondbacks look to bounce back from a disappointing 2013 and prove to the sports world that the NL West isn't just the Dodgers and everybody else. Arizona has started off behind the 8-ball early after dropping a 2 game set to LA in Sydney last weekend but look to bounce back against another division rival.

Taking the ball for San Francisco is Matt Cain who looks to return to a double digit win season after going just 8-10 in 2013. Cain posted a humbling 4.00 ERA after going under 2.90 in 3 of the previous four seasons. March didn't spring eternal for Cain as he allowed 13 runs in 15.2 IP. Cain was 1-1 in 4 starts against the Diamondbacks allowing 4,1,2, and 2 runs in his appearances. Current members of the Diamondbacks have batted just .248 against Cain in 258 career at bats.

Wade Miley is the man on the mound for Kirk Gibson's Diamondbacks. The 6 foot lefty dropped his first start of the season, pitching 5 innings and allowing all 3 runs in a 1-3 loss to the Dodgers on March 22nd. Miley aims to prove that the loss won't sidetrack him on the quest to improve on last year's 10-10 record. Miley made 3 starts against the Giants a year ago posting an 0-1 record while allowing just 2 runs in each game. The Giants have just over 100 AB against Miley posting a .284 average and just 1 HR.
