Ryan Vogelsong (8-10), who has won just one of his last six starts, will take the mound for the San Francisco Giants on Monday night when they face off against Wade Miley (7-11) and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Ryan Vogelsong certainly pitched well enough to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks last Wednesday, but all he could get out of that start was a no decision. He pitched 6.2 shutout innings in that outing and gave up just two hits while walking five batters and striking out three. Vogelsong currently has a 3.90 ERA on the year and he has only walked 2.7 batters per nine innings.

Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill has 13 hits in 28 at-bats against Vogelsong with three doubles, two home runs and six RBI. Cliff Pennington is just 1-for-10 against him with zero walks and four strikeouts.

Left-hander Wade Miley went just two innings against the San Francisco Giants on the road last week and suffered his 11th loss of the year. He gave up three runs on five hits in that game and struck out one while walking four. On the season, Miley now has a 4.28 ERA and he has struck out 169 hitters in 185 innings of work.

Giants All-Star catcher Buster Posey is 9-for-22 against Miley in his career with three doubles, a home run and six RBI. Outfielder Hunter Pence is just 2-for-19 against him with two walks and eight strikeouts.
