The San Diego Padres will be travelling to Nationals Park on Thursday night to take on the Washington Nationals. The Padres will turn to left hander Eric Stults to make the start, while the Nationals will send one of their young guns, Jordan Zimmerman, to the mound.

This will be the 5th start of the 2014 season for the 8th year pro, and Stults will look to continue his most recent success in this start. Stults pitched well in the rotation a year ago and will look to anchor the San Diego rotation for many years to come. The 27-year-old Zimmerman is one of the top young stars in Major League Baseball. While Stephen Strasburg gets the most attention in the Washington rotation, Zimmerman has stayed healthy and produces. He won 19 games a year ago and is 1-1 this season with a 3.92 ERA. He has allowed 9 earned runs on 24 hits and 6 walks with 23 strikeouts in 20 2/3 innings.
