Ian Kennedy will be hoping to pick up his second win of the season when the San Diego Padres go up against the Washington Nationals, who will have right-hander Taylor Jordan on the mound.

Ian Kennedy didn't get much from his offense last Tuesday when he faced the Milwaukee Brewers, but he did pitch well in the game. He was able to go six innings in that outing and gave up just one run on four hits while striking out five and walking three. The no decision didn't help his 1-3 record, but he was able to lower his ERA to 3.60.

Kennedy has had a tough time getting Nats' right fielder Jayson Werth out, giving up four hits to him, including one home run and a double, in 11 at-bats. Shortstop Ian Desmond has done pretty well against Kennedy, too, by going 5-for-13 with a double.

Taylor Jordan had his third straight rough start last Tuesday when he took the loss against the Los Angeles Angels. He made it through five innings in that game and gave up six runs (four earned) on eight hits while striking out five and walking none. He now has a 6.23 ERA, so he will need to string together a couple of nice starts to stay in Washington's rotation.

The Padres will be facing Jordan for the first time on Sunday afternoon.
