On Saturday night, rookie starter Jesse Hahn (7-3) will be going for his first August win when he and the San Diego Padres go up against Shelby Miller (8-9) and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Right-hander Jesse Hahn gave up three runs in five innings of work to the Colorado Rockies on Monday and finished with a no decision. He allowed five hits in that outing and waked three batters while striking out five. Hahn still has a very solid 2.52 ERA on the year and he has only given up 43 hits in 64.1 innings.

The Cardinals are on the of the teams that Hahn has already faced this season. In that outing back on July 30, he gave up just one run in seven innings and came away with the win.

23-year-old Shelby Miller had a rough start against the Miami Marlins on Monday and ended up losing for the ninth time on the season. He pitched five innings in that outing and allowed five runs on eight base hits while striking out five and walking two. He now has 4.17 ERA on the year and he has only struck out 6.6 batters per nine innings, which is the worst strikeout rate of his career.

Padres first baseman Yonder Alonso has just one hit in seven at-bats against Miller in his career with an RBI and a strikeout. Jedd Gyorko and Will Venable have both been able to hit solo home runs off of Miller.
