Big right-hander Tyson Ross will go for his seventh win of the year for the San Diego Padres on Monday night when they take on veteran starter Chris Young and the Seattle Mariners.

Tyson Ross went seven scoreless innings against the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday, but he got just a no decision from that game and the Padres ended up losing 3-0. Ross allowed four hits and walked one while striking out seven in what ended up being one of his better starts of the season. HE is 6-5 this year with a very solid 2.97 ERA and he has struck out 84 batters in 88 innings of work.

Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano has hit a home run off of Ross in his career, but he is just 2-for-9 overall against him with a strikeout. John Buck is 0-for-5 against Ross with two strikeouts.

Big right-hander Chris Young lost his second game in a row and his fourth overall on Wednesday when he was beaten by the New York Yankees. He pitched five innings in that outing and allowed four runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out two. Young has had a pretty good season so far with a 5-4 record and a 3.68 ERA.

Veteran outfielder Carlos Quentin has just one official at-bat against Young in five plate appearances with a strikeout and three walks.
