Big right-hander Tyson Ross (10-10) will try to keep his four-game undefeated streak going when the San Diego Padres take on Charlie Morton (5-10) and the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday, Tyson Ross pitched six pretty good innings against the Atlanta Braves at home and came away with a no decision. He allowed two runs on five hits in that start and struck out seven batters while walking two. Ross has been solid for the Padres this year and currently has a very solid 2.62 ERA.

Andrew McCutchen and Neil Walker both have been able to hit a home run off of Ross, but they are a combined 2-for-10 against him with three strikeouts. Catcher Russell Martin is 2-for-4 against him with two doubles and an RBI.

Charlie Morton had a good outing against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday, but he had to settle for a no decision in a game the Marlins ended up winning 6-3. Morton went seven innings in that start and allowed just one run on six hits while walking four batters and striking out four. He currently has a 3.43 ERA on the season and he has only given up nine home runs in 144.1 innings.

Padres outfielder Seth Smith has four hits in eight at-bats against Morton with a home run and two RBI. Will Venable is 0-for-9 against him with no walks and three strikeouts.
