Andrew Cashner (2-7) will try to win his first game since back on April 16 when he and the San Diego Padres face off against Roberto Hernandez (8-10) and the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night.

Last Wednesday, Andrew Cashner ended up taking the loss against the Arizona Diamondbacks even though he pitched pretty well in the game. He went seven innings against Arizona and gave up four runs (two earned) on five base hits while walking one batter and striking out five. Cashner still has a very good 2.39 ERA on the year and he has only given up three home runs in 94.1 innings.

Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig is just 1-for-11 against Cashner in his career with two walks and four strikeouts. The Dodgers haven't been able to hit a home run off of the right-hander in 137 combined at-bats.

Roberto Hernandez ended up taking the loss against the Washington Nationals at home last week after giving up five runs in four innings of work. He allowed five hits in that outing while striking out four batters and walking one. In 148.1 innings this season, Hernandez has only given up 133 hits and has struck out 94 batters.

Padres outfielder Seth Smith is 4-for-8 against Hernandez in his career with a double and an RBI. Adam Moore is just 1-for-6 against him with no walks and two strikeouts.
