On Tuesday night, Ian Kennedy (9-10) will try to make it to double-digit wins when he and the San Diego Padres go up against Kevin Correia (1-0) and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Veteran starter Ian Kennedy pitched six innings against the Colorado Rockies last week and ended up picking up his ninth win of the year. He allowed three runs on six hits in that game while walking two batters and striking out eight. He now has a 3.54 ERA on the year and he has struck out 9.6 batters per nine innings, which is the best strikeout rate of his career.

Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier has 11 hits in 34 at-bats against Kennedy in his career with two doubles, two home runs and five RBI. Catcher A.J. Ellis is just 3-for-18 against him with two walks and five strikeouts.

Last Monday against the Atlanta Braves, Kevin Correia made his first start since being traded to the Dodgers and was able to pick up the win. He went six innings in that game and allowed one run on four hits while striking out five batters and walking one. Correia has given up 161 hits in 135.1 innings this season and he has a 4.79 ERA.

Padres third baseman Yangervis Solarte has three hits in five at-bats against Correia with a solo home run. Yasmani Grandal is 0-for-5 against him with a walk and two RBI.
