On Sunday afternoon, Tyson Ross will be going for his eighth win of the year when he and the San Diego Padres face Los Angeles Dodgers lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu.

Tyson Ross pitched a solid game against the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday, but he ended up taking the loss after getting just one run from his offense. He went six innings in that outing and gave up two earned runs on six hits while striking out six and walking no one. Ross is currently 7-9, but he deserves a better record considering he has a very good 2.93 ERA.

Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez has four hits in his 12 at-bats against Ross with a double and two RBI. Outfielder Carl Crawford is 5-for-8 against him in his career with two walks and two doubles.

Second-year starter Hyun-Jin Ryu could only make it through 2.1 innings against the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday and took his fifth loss of the year. He gave up a season-high seven earned runs in that game and walked two while striking out two. He is now 9-5 on the season with a 3.65 ERA and he has struck out 83 batters in 98.2 innings.
