In a battle between two left-handed pitchers, Eric Stults and the San Diego Padres will face Jorge De La Rosa and the Colorado Rockies on Friday night.

After two bad outings in a row, Eric Stults was able to pick up his second win of the season his last time out on the mound when he beat the Miami Marlins at home. He pitched six innings in that game and gave up only two earned runs on six hits while striking out a season-high four and walking none. His ERA is still quite high at 5.03 and he has given up 58 hits through 39.1 innings.

Rockies All-Star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki has a .417 batting average with two doubles and an RBI against Stults in 17 at-bats. No one on the Rockies has hit a home run off of the lefty.

Jorge De La Rosa picked up his fourth consecutive win last Wednesday when he beat the Texas Rangers on the road. He went six innings in that outing and gave up just two runs on three hits while striking out four and walking three. His ERA of 4.81 is still higher than he'd like it to be, but it has dropped in each of his last five starts.

Padres third baseman Chase Headley is just 8-for-36 against De La Rosa in his career with no extra-base hits and 11 strikeouts.
