In a battle between two 23-year-old pitchers, Robbie Erlin and the San Diego Padres will go up against Jordan Lyles and the Colorado Rockies on Saturday.

Robbie Erlin hadn't won a game since back on April 9, but that streak ended when he was able to pick up his second win of the season against the Miami Marlins last Sunday. He pitched 6.1 innings of shutout ball in that game and gave up just five hits and struck out seven while walking none. His ERA went down more than half a run to 4.22 and he has 37 strikeouts through 42.2 innings.

This will be Erlin's second start against the Rockies. He pitched well against them in that game, but shortstop Troy Tulowitzki went 2-for-2 against him with a double.

Jordan Lyles continued to be one of the league's big surprises by improving his record to 5-0 by beating the Cincinnati Reds last Saturday. He pitched six innings in that outing and gave up just two earned runs on four hits while striking out a season-high eight batters and walking four. He has a 2.66 ERA through 50.2 innings and he's given up just 41 hits on the season.

Utility man Alexi Amarista has five hits against Lyles in nine at-bats with a triple and two RBI. Will Venable and Yonder Alonso have both hit one home run off of Lyles.
