On Sunday afternoon, big right-hander Tyson Ross (13-12) will be making the start for the San Diego Padres when they face off against Franklin Morales (5-7) and the Colorado Rockies.

Last week, Tyson Ross picked up his second win in a row when he beat the Arizona Diamondbacks at home. He gave up just one run on six hits in that start while walking two batters and striking out eight. Ross now has a very good 2.60 ERA on the year and he has only given up 12 home runs in 187 innings on the mound.

Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon is 2-for-5 against Ross in his career with a double, home run and two RBI. Nolan Arenado is just 1-for-8 against him with no walks and a strikeout.

Left-hander Franklin Morales had a very bad outing against the San Francisco Giants last week, but he got some help from his offense and ended up with a no decision. Morales went 4.1 innings in that outing and gave up a season-high seven runs on nine hits while striking out three and walking four. He now has a 5.46 ERA and he has given up 152 hits in 128.2 innings this season.

Padres first baseman Tommy Medica is hitless in his five at-bats versus Morales with no walks and one strikeout.
