On Saturday, Tyson Ross (13-12) will be going for his third straight win when the San Diego Padres take on Jorge De La Rosa (13-10) and the Colorado Rockies.

Tyson Ross had a strong start against the Arizona Diamondbacks last Monday and picked up his 13th win of the year in the process. He gave up just one earned run in six innings of work that day while striking out eight batters and walking two. Ross has been able to strike out 8.9 batters per nine innings this year and now has a very good 2.60 ERA.

Charlie Blackmon is 2-for-5 against Ross in his career and is the only player on the Rockies who has hit a home run off of him. Catcher DJ LeMahieu is just 1-for-6 against him with no walks and two strikeouts.

Last Sunday, Jorge De La Rosa lost his second consecutive game when he was defeated by the Arizona Diamondbacks on the road. He went six innings in that start and gave up four runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out five. De La Rosa currently owns a 4.26 ERA and he has only given up 142 hits in 160.2 innings.

Padres infielder Jedd Gyorko is 7-for-11 against De La Rosa in his career with two walks and two doubles. Will Venable is just 1-for-7 against him with no walks and two strikeouts.
