On Tuesday night, Tyson Ross will go for his eighth win of the season when he and the San Diego Padres face Franklin Morales and the Colorado Rockies.

Last Wednesday against the Cincinnati Reds, Tyson Ross pitched his first career shutout and picked up his seventh win of the year in the process. He gave up just three hits in those nine strong innings and struck out nine without walking a batters. Ross has now struck out 111 batters in 116.2 innings while only giving up nine home runs.

Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki has three hits in eight at-bats against Ross with a walk and an RBI. Catcher Wilin Rosario is hitless against him in three at-bats with a walk and two strikeouts.

Franklin Morales pitched five innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers last week and ended up with a no decision. He gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits in that outing while walking two batters and striking out four. The left-hander has a 4-4 record this season with a 5.51 ERA and he has given up 10.2 hits per nine innings.

Padres third baseman Chase Headley has two hits in four at-bats against Morales with two walks, a strikeout and an RBI. Will Venable is 2-for-5 against him with a double and an RBI. None of the current Padres have been able to hit a home run off of Morales yet.
