Veteran left-hander Eric Stults will be getting the start for the San Diego Padres on Sunday and will be facing Jose Quintana of the Chicago White Sox.

Last Tuesday, Eric Stults faced the Arizona Diamondbacks and ended up with a no decision in a game the Padres eventually won 4-3. He pitched six innings in that start and gave up three runs on five hits while walking four and striking out one. Stults has struck out just 26 batters in 56.2 innings of work this season and has given up 75 hits.

White Six shortstop Alexei Ramirez has two singles in his three at-bats against Stults, while Adam Dunn is 1-for-3 against him with one strikeout. No one on the White Sox has hit a home run off of Stults yet.

Jose Quintana made his 11th start of the season last week against the Cleveland Indians and ended up getting his third win of the year. He pitched six strong innings in that start and gave up two earned runs on five hits while striking out five and walking two. Quintana is currently enjoying the best season of his career by walking just 2.4 batters per nine innings and only allowing four home runs in 67.1 innings.

Seth Smith is the only player on the Padres who has faced Quintana and he is hitless in three at-bats against the lefty with one strikeout.
