San Diego Padres pitcher Tim Stauffer will be making his second start of the season when he takes on rookie Chase Anderson and the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

After making 13 appearances out of the bullpen, Tim Stauffer returned to the mound as a starter last week and was able to beat the Chicago Cubs after throwing five scoreless innings. He allowed just two hits in that start and struck out five while walking just one. He now has a 1.90 ERA through 23.2 innings and he has struck out 23 batters.

Miguel Montero has struggled against Stauffer in his career, going just 4-for-18 with five strikeouts. Martin Prado is 4-for-12 against him with a double, a home run and two RBI, while center fielder A.J. Pollock has two hits in five at-bats against him with a double and two strikeouts.

Right-hander Chase Anderson made the second Major League start of his career a week and a half ago and ended up with the win against the Los Angeles Dodgers despite giving up five runs. He has pitched a total of 10.2 innings this season and has a 5.06 ERA with eight strikeouts.

All of the Padres will be seeing Anderson for the first time on Wednesday. They can expect to see a 92 mph fastball that he throws about 60 percent of the time, along with a curveball and a changeup.
