On Saturday, Andrew Cashner (2-6) will be hoping that he can win his first game since way back on April 16 when he and the San Diego Padres face Vidal Nuno (0-3) and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Andrew Cashner pitched well enough to beat the Seattle Mariners on Monday, but he had to settle for a no decision. He went seven innings in that start and allowed just one run on seven base hits while walking two batters and striking out two. He now has an excellent 2.36 ERA through 12 starts this season and he has only given up two home runs in 76.1 innings of work.

Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero has hit a solo home run off of Cashner, but he is just 3-for-15 overall against him in his career. Didi Gregorius is 2-for-5 against him with a double and no strikeouts.

On Monday against the Washington Nationals, Vidal Nuno pitched well and ended up with a no decision. He went seven innings in that outing and allowed two runs on five hits while striking out seven batters and walking two. Nuno has 98 strikeouts in 124 innings this year and he now has a 4.79 ERA.

Nuno will be facing the Padres for the first time in his career on Saturday night. So far this year, he has held left-handed batters to just a .221 batting average through 113 at-bats.
