On Friday night, rookie right-hander Odrisamer Despaigne (3-4) will be going for just his second win since June when the San Diego Padres face Josh Collmenter (8-7) and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Odrisamer Despaigne gave up five earned runs in four innings on Sunday against the St. Louis Cardinals and ended up taking the loss. He allowed six hits in that start and ended up striking out one and walking one. Through 10 starts this season, Despaigne has a solid 3.28 ERA for the Padres and he has only given up four home runs in 60.1 innings of work.

Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero has one hit in his three at-bats against Despaigne in his career with one RBI and no strikeouts. Second baseman Aaron Hill is 0-for-2 against him with a walk.

Right-hander Josh Collmenter lost his second game in a row on Sunday when he was beaten by the Miami Marlins on the road. He lasted four innings in that game and gave up five runs on seven hits while walking one batter and striking out four. His ERA is now up to 4.31 and he has given up 17 home runs in 129.1 innings this season.

Padres outfielder Seth Smith has five hits in 14 plate appearances against Collmenter with a double, a triple and a home run. Jedd Gyorko is 0-for-5 against him in his career with no walks and a strikeout.
