Charlie Morton (5-10) will attempt to win his first game since July 2 when he and the Pittsburgh Pirates face Tim Lincecum (9-7) and the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday afternoon.

Last Friday, Charlie Morton gave up four runs in six innings to the Colorado Rockies and ended up losing his 10th game of the year. He allowed 10 hits in that outing and walked one batter while striking out three. Morton now has a 3.40 ERA on the season and he has only given up nine home runs in 132.1 innings.

Giants catcher Buster Posey has four hits in his 12 at-bats versus Morton with a walk, two doubles and an RBI. Second baseman Dan Uggla has struggled against the right-hander by going 1-for-11 against him with a walk and four strikeouts.

In his start against the Los Angels Dodgers last Friday, Tim Lincecum could only make it through 4.1 innings and ended up picking up his seventh loss of the year. He allowed six earned runs on nine hits in that outing while striking out six and walking no one. The right-hander is giving up fewer hits this season, but he is also striking out fewer batters than he ever has in his career.

Pirates veteran Neil Walker has four hits in his 11 at-bats against Lincecum with a double and a solo home run. Catcher Russell Martin is just 2-for-10 against the former Cy Young award winner with three walks and six strikeouts.
