On Monday night, right-hander Vance Worley and the Pittsburgh Pirates will face 13-game winner Madison Bumgarner and the San Francisco Giants.

Last Tuesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Vance Worley got some help from his offense and he ended up winning his third game of the year. He pitched six innings in that start and allowed four runs (one earned) on seven hits while walking two and striking out five. Through seven starts, he now has a 3-1 record with a 3.10 ERA and he has only walked seven batters in 40.2 innings of work.

New Giant second baseman Dan Uggla has done well against Worley in his career, going 5-for-11 against him with two home runs and four RBI.

Big left-hander Madison Bumgarner won his third game in a row and his 12th overall last week against the Philadelphia Phillies after pitching eight shutout innings. He gave up just five hits in that start and walked no one while striking out six batters. Bumgarner is now 12-7 on the season with a solid 3.19 ERA and he has struck out 141 batters in 141 innings.

Pirates catcher Russell Martin has two hits in his five at-bats against Bumgarner with a walk and a strikeout. None of the current Pirates have been able to hit a home run off of the left-hander in their 49
