Coming off of his first-career no-hitter, Josh Beckett will be taking the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday and will be going up against the winless Francisco Liriano and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

It took veteran Josh Beckett 14 seasons to do it, but he was able to pitch his first no-no against the Philadelphia Phillies on the road on Sunday. Pirates outfielder Travis Snider has done better against Beckett than any of his teammates by going 5-for-14 against him with a home run and two RBI. Catcher Russell Martin has just two hits against him in 12 career at-bats.

Francisco Liriano lost for the fifth time this year after giving up four runs in five innings against the Washington Nationals. He allowed six hits in that game and walked four while striking out five. Liriano is now 0-5 on the season with a 5.06 ERA, but he has struck out 58 batters in 58.3 innings.

Infielder Chone Figgins has four hits in 16 plate appearances against Liriano with a double and seven strikeouts. First baseman Adrian Gonzalez is 1-for-2 with a walk against him in his career.
