The Pittsburgh Pirates will face the Colorado Rockies in the second game of a three game series. The Pirates will send Jeff Locke (2-1, 3.05 ERA) to the bump while the Rockies will put Tyler Matzek (1-4, 4.91 ERA) on the mound.

Jeff Locke is coming off a no-decision on Sunday against the Rockies. He gave up three runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out three. Josh Rutledge and Mike McKenry both hit homeruns off Locke in the first two innings. Locke will try to continue his streak of eight consecutive quality starts on Saturday.

Locke has pitched well against the Rockies. Current Colorado hitters are batting .262 versus Locke with the only twho homeruns coming last game.

Tyler Matzek will be looking to get get a win in this matchup for the first time since early June. Matzek pitched six innings on Sunday against the Pirates giving up three earned runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out eight. Matzek earned a no-decision on Sunday. Before that, Matzek had lost four of his last six starts.

It will be the second time in his career that Matzek has faced the Pirates (the first being Sunday).
