Johnny Cueto will be taking the mound for the fourth time on Wednesday and will be hoping to get his first win when the Cincinnati Reds face Francisco Liriano and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Johnny Cueto may have taken his second loss of the season when the Reds lost to the Tampa Bay Rays last week, but it was hardly his fault. He went seven innings for the third straight game and gave up just two runs on five hits while striking out six. He now has a 2.14 ERA through three starts.

The most interesting matchup to look out for is when Cueto faces Pirates' star Andrew McCutchen. They have faced each other 45 times already with McCutchen getting nine hits, including three home runs and two doubles. He's hitting just .231 with six strikeouts against the righty, though, so it's a pretty unpredictable matchup.

Francisco Liriano took his second loss of the season when he gave up four runs to the Milwaukee Brewers in six innings of work. He struck out seven Brewer hitters, but he also gave up two home runs. One of the reasons why Liriano may be struggling is because his velocity is down from 93 mph last season to 91.5 mph so far this season.

Todd Frazier has three hits in nine career at-bats against Liriano, with two of those hits being home runs. Liriano has done well against Brayan Pena, though, striking him out three times and only allowing four hits in 5 at-bats.
