On Friday night, Vance Worley (8-4) will be going for his third win in a row when he and the Pittsburgh Pirates take on Mike Leake (11-13) and the Cincinnati Reds.

Vance Worley had one of his more impressive outings of the year on Sunday when he defeated the Milwaukee Brewers at home. He pitched eight scoreless innings in that start and gave up just four hits while striking out five and walking zero. Worley currently has a 2.93 ERA on the season and he has only walked 1.9 batters per nine innings.

Reds third baseman Todd Frazier has three hits in five at-bats against Worley in his career with two walks, two home runs and three RBI. Outfielder Jay Bruce is just 2-for-12 against him with no walks and four strikeouts.

Last weekend, Mike Leake lost his second game in a row when he was beaten by the St. Louis Cardinals on the road. He gave up six runs (five earned) in five innings of work that day while walking two batters and striking out four. Leake has struck out 156 batters in 207.1 innings this season and he now has a 3.78 ERA.

Pirates outfielder Starling Marte has just four hits in 20 at-bats versus Leake with a solo home run and six strikeouts. All-Star Andrew McCutchen is 14-for-51 against him with a double, two home runs and six RBI.
