On Saturday night, Charlie Morton will be on the mound for the Pittsburgh Pirates when they face seven-game winner Mike Leake and the Cincinnati Reds.

Charlie Morton had a very solid outing against the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday, but he ended up with just a no decision after getting no run support from his offense. Morton gave up just one hit in his seven innings of work that day and walked two while striking out five. He is currently 5-9 on the year, but his 3.10 ERA suggests that he deserves at least a few more wins.

Reds outfielder Jay Bruce has eight hits in his 24 at-bats against Morton with three doubles, one triple and two home runs. Zack Cozart is just 1-for-13 against him with a walk and three strikeouts.

Right-hander Mike Leake won his seventh game of the year on Monday when he beat the Chicago Cubs at home. He made it through seven innings in that start and gave up three runs (two earned) on nine hits while striking out seven hitters and walking one. On the year, Leake is now 7-7 with a 3.42 ERA and he has 95 strikeouts in 121 innings.

Pirates first baseman Gaby Sanchez has three hits in his eight at-bats against Leake with a double, a home run and three RBI. Neil Walker is 11-for-33 against him with four doubles, a home run and 11 RBI.
