Left-hander Jeff Locke has been hot recently and will be looking to use that momentum when he and the Pittsburgh Pirates face off against Mat Latos and the Cincinnati Reds on Friday.

Jeff Locke pitched eight strong innings against the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday and came away with his second win of the season. He gave up two runs (one earned) on just three hits in that start while walking one batter and striking out four. Through seven starts, Locke is 2-1 with a 3.08 ERA and he has only walked six batters in 49.2 innings.

All-Star third baseman Todd Frazier has five hits in his 12 at-bats against Locke with a double, a home run and two RBI. Second baseman Brandon Phillips has just one hit against him in 11 at-bats with three strikeouts.

Big right-hander Mat Latos won his second game of the season on Sunday when he was bale to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers at home. He pitched eight innings in that start and gave up just two runs on four hits while striking out three and walking one. Through five starts, Latos is 2-1 with a 2.41 ERA and he has only given up one home run so far this year.

Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen has just five hits in 20 at-bats against Latos, but he has hit two home runs off of him. Starling Marte is only 2-for-13 against Latos with five strikeouts.
