On Saturday night, Vance Worley will be making his second start of the season for the Pittsburgh Pirates and he will have to go up against Travis Wood and the Chicago Cubs.

On Sunday, Vance Worley made his first start of the season for the Pirates and ended up with a no decision against the Miami Marlins on the road. He went seven scoreless innings in that game and gave up just five hits while not walking a batter and striking out five. He threw 68 of his 95 pitches for strikes in that game.

Nate Schierholtz is just 1-for-8 against Worley in his career with a walk and two strikeouts. Eli Whiteside is 2-for-8 against him with a double and a home run, which is the only long ball Worley has given up to a current Cubs' player.

Travis Wood had his best outing of the season on Sunday when he was able to pitch eight scoreless innings against the Philadelphia Phillies. He picked up his seventh win of the season in that game and only allowed three hits while striking out six and walking three. Wood has struck out 7.4 batters per nine innings this season, which is his highest rate in five years.

All-Star Andrew McCutchen is just 4-for-23 against Wood with a double, a home run and seven strikeouts. Pedro Alvarez has just one hit against him in 18 career at-bats.
