Gerrit Cole (7-5), who hasn't won a game since back on June 28, will get the start for the Pittsburgh Pirates when they take on Travis Wood (8-11) and the Chicago Cubs on Sunday.

Last week, Gerrit Cole gave up five runs in 6.1 innings against the St. Louis Cardinals and ended up taking the loss. He allowed eight hits in that outing while walking three batters and striking out four. Cole now has a 3.86 ERA through 17 starts this season and he has only given up nine home runs in 105 innings on the mound.

Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro has five hits in his nine at-bats against Cole with a walk and two RBI. Junior Lake is 0-for-5 against him in his career with a walk and two strikeouts.

Travis Wood had a pretty rough start against the St. Louis Cardinals last Sunday, but he took the no decision rather than a loss in that game. Wood went 4.2 innings against the Cards and allowed four runs on six base hits while walking three batters and striking out two. He has given up 171 hits in 161 innings this year and now has a 4.81 ERA.

Pirates outfielder Jose Tabata is 5-for-17 against Wood in his career with two doubles, a triple and one RBI. Clint Barmes is just 3-for-22 against him with a walk and four strikeouts.
