Jeff Locke (7-5), who is 1-2 with a 4.03 ERA this month, will be on the mound for the Pittsburgh Pirates when they go up against Julio Teheran (13-13) and the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night.

Last Friday, Jeff Locke gave up just two runs in seven innings of work against the Milwaukee Brewers and ended up with a no decision. He allowed five base hits in that start and walked no one while striking out three. Locke lowered his ERA to 3.60 in that start and he has walked 2.5 batters per nine innings, which is the best walk rate of his career.

Braves third baseman Chris Johnson has two hits in six at-bats versus Locke with a home run and two RBI. Outfielder Jason Heyward is 3-for-9 against the left-hander in his career with a double and an RBI.

Right-hander Julio Teheran lost his fourth start in a row last week when he was beaten by the New York Mets at home. He did pitch well in that game, though, by giving up just two runs in seven innings and striking out six without walking a batter. Teheran has a solid 2.88 ERA on the season and he has only given up 182 hits in 216 innings.

Pirates first baseman Ike Davis has three hits in his five at-bats against Teheran with a double and an RBI. Outfielder Starling Marte is hitless in his seven at-bats against Teheran with no walks and three strikeouts.
