On Saturday night, Vance Worley (4-1) will be going for his third straight win when the Pittsburgh Pirates face Chase Anderson (6-4) and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

On Monday, Vance Worley was able to pitch his first shutout of the season when he beat the San Francisco Giants on the road. In that game, he gave up just four hits and walked one while striking out three. His ERA for the Pirates is now down to a solid 2.54 through eight starts and he has only walked eight batters in 49.2 innings of work.

The only player on the Diamondbacks who has hit a home run off of Worley is David Peralta, who is 1-for-3 against him with two RBI. Catcher Miguel Montero is just 1-for-6 against him with a walk and a strikeout.

Rookie Chase Anderson pitched very well in his start against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday, but all he could get out of that game was a no decision. He allowed just one earned run in seven innings that day and struck out eight batters while walking two. He now has a 3.34 ERA on the season and he has struck out 60 batters in 67.1 innings on the mound.

Pirates rookie outfielder Gregory Polanco was 2-for-2 against Anderson earlier this season with a double, a home run and two RBI. Andrew McCutchen was 1-for-2 against him with a walk and a strikeout.
