Left-hander Cole Hamels (6-5) will be going for his fourth consecutive win when he and the Philadelphia Phillies face Stephen Strasburg (7-9) and the Washington Nationals on Sunday afternoon.

Cole Hamels won his third game in a row on Tuesday when he was able to defeat the New York Mets on the road. He pitched eight shutout innings in that start and gave up just six hits while walking no one and striking out eight. Hamels has struck out 133 batters in 130.1 innings this season and has only given up eight home runs.

One player on the Nationals who has always done well against Hamels is Scott Hairston, who is 16-for-41 against him with five doubles, five home runs and nine RBI. Ian Desmond is just 8-for-41 versus Hamels with a walk and 10 strikeouts.

On Tuesday, Stephen Strasburg lost his third consecutive game when he was beaten by the Miami Marlins on the road. He did pitch well in that game, though, by giving up just one run in seven innings and striking out four while walking two. Strasburg currently owns a 3.55 ERA and he has struck out 10.4 batters per nine innings.

Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins has hit a home run off of Strasburg, but he is just 3-for-27 overall against him with 11 strikeouts. Outfielder Marlon Byrd is 6-for-15 against the right-hander with a double, a home run and six RBI.
