Right-hander Kyle Kendrick will be hoping that he can finally pick up his first win of the season when the Philadelphia Phillies take on Dillon Gee and the New York Mets on Saturday.

Kyle Kendrick pitched well in his game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday, but he got no run support from his team and ended up taking his third loss of the season. He pitched seven innings in that outing and gave up three runs on seven hits while striking out three and walking three. His 3.58 ERA is better than last year, but he is giving up more home runs than he ever did in the past.

Mets third baseman David Wright has 13 hits in 41 at-bats against Kendrick with two doubles, two home runs and four RBI. Kendrick has gotten the best of Daniel Murphy over the years, though, holding him to just five hits in 27 at-bats.

Dillon Gee picked up his second straight win and his third of the season this past Sunday when he beat the Colorado Rockies. In that start, the 28-year-old right-hander went six shutout innings and gave up just six hits while striking out six and walking one. Gee currently has a 16-inning scoreless streak going.

Ryan Howard has seen Gee's pitches big over the years and has six home runs and 14 RBI in 15 at-bats against him. Catcher Carlos Ruiz has just one hit against him in 10 career at-bats.
