Philadelphia Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick will try to end his current two-game losing streak on Thursday night when he goes up against Nathan Eovaldi and the Miami Marlins.

In his last start, Kyle Kendrick lost for the eighth time this season when he was beaten by the Atlanta Braves in Philadelphia. He did pitch eight innings in that game, but he gave up four runs on nine hits while walking two batters and striking out eight. On the year, Kendrick is 3-8 with a 4.22 ERA and he has only been able to strike out 65 batters in 102.1 innings.

Marlins third baseman Casey McGehee has four hits in his 11 at-bats against Kendrick with a double, a home run and five RBI. Giancarlo Stanton has hit a home run off of him, but he is just 3-for-23 against him overall with eight strikeouts.

On Monday, right-hander Nathan Eovaldi gave up five earned runs to the Oakland Athletics in seven innings of work, but he took the no decision instead of the loss. He allowed eight hits in that game and walked three batters while striking out three. Eovaldi has a solid 3.29 FIP this season and he has only given up 1.7 walks per nine innings.

Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins has nine hits in 24 at-bats against Eovaldi with two doubles, a home run and two RBI. Outfielder Domonic Brown is just 4-for-20 against him with three strikeouts.
