Veteran right-hander A.J. Burnett (6-12) will be hoping that he can snap his three-game losing streak when the Philadelphia Phillies take on Jered Weaver (12-7) and the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday night.

A.J. Burnett continued his string of bad starts last Friday when he was beaten by the New York Mets at home. He pitched six innings in that game and gave up five runs on 11 hits while walking two and striking out eight. His ERA is now up to 4.29 on the year, but he has struck out 132 batters in 157.1 innings of work.

Angels first baseman Albert Pujols has six hits in 21 at-bats against Burnett in his career with two doubles, two home runs and four RBI. David Freese is just 1-for-11 against him with no walks and five strikeouts.

Jered Weaver pitched six innings against the Boston Red Sox last week and ended up taking the loss. He gave up four runs on seven base hits in that game and walked two batters while striking out three. He has only given up 138 hits in 156.1 innings this year and now has a 3.68 ERA.

Phillies outfielder Grady Sizemore is just 6-for-25 against Weaver in his career, but he has hit two home runs off of him. Veteran Marlon Byrd is 8-for-25 against him with four doubles and two RBI.
