On Saturday afternoon, Roberto Hernandez will try to notch his first win since May 4 when he and the Philadelphia Phillies face Alfredo Simon and the Cincinnati Reds.

Veteran right-hander Roberto Hernandez lost for the third time this season on Monday when he was beaten by the New York Mets at home. He went 5.1 innings in that outing and allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits while walking two and striking out five. Hernandez hasn't pitched poorly this season, but he has just two wins in 13 starts to go along with his 4.03 ERA.

Ramon Santiago has faced Hernandez more than anyone else on the Reds and is 7-for-24 against him with two walks and three RBI. Brayan Pena has just one hit in seven at-bats against him.

Alfredo Simon won for the third time in four outings on Sunday when he beat the Arizona Diamondbacks at home. He went 6.1 innings in that start, allowing three earned runs on seven hits while walking just one and striking out four. He now has a 3.03 ERA through 68.1 innings and his walk rate is the lowest it has been since his rookie season.

Simon has done well in his 12 innings against the Phillies. He has a 1-1 record with a 0.75 ERA and he has struck out 10 batters while walking two. Outfielder Domonic Brown is hitless against Simon in five career at-bats.
