Philadelphia Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick will try to win just his fifth game of the season on Sunday afternoon when he faces 23-year-old Alex Wood and the Atlanta Braves.

Kyle Kendrick had a pretty rough start his last time on the mound when he was defeated by the Washington Nationals at home. He gave up five runs in 5.2 innings that day and struck out five hitters while walking no one. Kendrick is currently 4-9 with a 4.62 ERA and he has given up 130 hits in 120.2 innings of work.

Braves outfielder Justin Upton has six hits in his 20 at-bats versus Kendrick with two home runs and four RBI. Jason Heyward is just 5-for-28 against him in his career with three walks and seven strikeouts.

In his last outing, left-hander Alex Wood pitched 5.1 innings against the Chicago Cubs on the road and ended up with a no decision. He allowed four runs on five hits in that game while striking out six batters and walking three. Wood currently has a 3.36 ERA and he has been able to strike out 82 batters in 85.2 innings.

Phillies second baseman Chase Utley is 4-for-9 against Wood in his career with a double and an RBI, while shortstop Jimmy Rollins is hitless against him in his 11 at-bats against the lefty with no walks and two strikeouts.
