The Philadelphia Flyers played their first and only other game against the St. Louis Blues a week and a half ago and were able to cruise to a 4-1 victory. After getting off to a good start in the game, the Blues weren't able to get the puck past goalie Steve Mason or stop the Flyers offense from scoring at will.

The first goal of the game came six minutes into the first period when Jaden Schwartz was able to get a shorthanded tally for the Blues off of assists from Kevin Shattenkirk and Vladimir Sobotka. Scott Hartnell scored his 19th of the season to tie it up with a power-play goal 57 seconds into the second period. Brayden Schenn then made it 2-1 for the Flyers midway through the period. Jakub Voracek doubled Philadelphia's lead in the third period with his 19th of the season after a nice steal by Hartnell and a pass from Claude Giroux. Wayne Simmonds finished off the scoring less than two minutes later with his 24th goal of the season.

Mason had a great night in goal for the Flyers, saving 32 shots of the 33 he faced. Hartnell, Simmonds and Voracek had a goal and an assist each, while Giroux had two helpers in the win.

The Blues remained in first place in the Western Conference despite the loss, while the Flyers were able to come a bit closer to getting one of the final playoff spots in the East.
