The Oakland Athletics will face the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday in the second meeting of a three game series. Oakland will send Jess Chavez to the mound while the Blue Jays will put R.A. Dickey on the mound.

Chavez is coming off two straight wins after defeating the Cleveland Indians on Sunday. Chavez pitched five innings agnd gave up two earned runs off six hits. He struck out six and walked three in the 13-3 win. The win puts Chavez’s record at 4-1 with a 2.54 ERA. Chavez started out the year on fire and only gave up four earned runs over his first four outings but only earned one win out of those games. The offense has now come around and is rewarding Chavez with wins. He’ll look to keep his current streak alive when he faces the Blue Jays on Saturday.

He hasn’t faced may Toronto batters but he has fared well against the batters he has faced. Jose Reyes is 1-of-5 with a strikeout against Chavez.

The knuckleballer, Dickey, is coming off his fourth loss of the season when he faced the Texas Rangers on Sunday. The loss put his record at 4-4 with a 4.20 ERA. He pitched 6.1 innings and gave up three earned runs on three hits while striking out three. Dickey was expected to start on Friday but he’s going to get an extra day of rest while Liam Hendriks pitches on Friday. Now Dickey will get the chance to get back in the win column when he faces Oakland.

Current Oakland hitters are batting .253 against Dickey going 21-for-83. Yoenis Cespedes is 1-for-6 against Dickey with a double.
